Richard is a very experienced and innovative circuit designer, “looking for an opportunity to repeat or exceed previous success”. These most notably included his time at Microcosm Communications where he was one of the founder team that developed order of magnitude improvements in price / performance for optical components using CMOS and BiCMOS silicon.

Prior to Microcosm, Richard was with Nortel (where he developed many ASICs for the fibre-optic data market and filed a patent for an innovative clock extraction circuit), Marconi, STC and Plessey Semiconductors.

Design tasks have included military radio-comms circuits and hermetic package design in quartz crystal and Surface Acoustic Wave technology. His career has included sales, applications and customer education world-wide as well as design engineering. This enables him to bring a customer-focussed approach to design and technical depth to customer liason.
